After four years of effort, the Université libre de Bruxelles is concluding its Digital Recovery Plan, marking a key step in the digital transformation of its teaching.

Between 2022 and 2026, the Digital Recovery Plan has significantly advanced the ULB in the digitalization of its education. Focused on strengthening infrastructure and developing digital skills, this project united numerous services and faculties around the common goal of providing the university community with environments, tools, and support adapted to evolving pedagogical practices.
This initiative resulted in concrete achievements on campus, including 70 new Wi-Fi antennas, 27 lecture halls equipped for audio and video recording, two active learning rooms, two recording studios, as well as new equipment for computer labs, the FabLab, journalism training, and the new Solvay Behavioral Lab. The accessibility of the Virtual University was also enhanced through the integration of a text-to-speech tool.
Beyond material equipment, the project prioritized supporting usage and developing digital skills. In total, 189 workshops were organized for students, gathering 2,467 participants, complemented by 974 individual support sessions. Furthermore, 820 teachers and 484 members of the PATGS received training in digital skills, with increasing attention given to the uses of generative artificial intelligence.
As the Digital Recovery Plan comes to an end, the developed infrastructure, tools, and skills now form the foundation of a sustainable digital strategy. This strategy aims to support student success, pedagogical innovation, and the quality of teaching at ULB.
