The Port of Brussels announced the appointment of Jean-Luc Muleo as Chairman of its Board of Directors, along with eleven new administrators, following an extraordinary general meeting and a decree from the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region dated October 15, 2026.

Jean-Luc Muleo, already involved in Brussels political and associative life, was elected municipal councilor in Evere in 2018, where he currently serves as an alderman responsible for employment, housing, youth, and sports. In his role as president, he will support the regional public company's missions alongside the Board of Directors and the Port's management.
The Board of Directors also welcomes a new Vice-Chairman, Sébastien Devos, appointed by the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region on September 3, 2026. Sébastien Devos previously served as the Government's commissioner to the Port of Brussels and currently works in the office of State Secretary Ans Persoons.
The arrival of eleven new administrators marks a new phase in the Port of Brussels' governance. The first general assembly of this new board was held on Friday, October 16. The Board comprises eleven members representing the Brussels-Capital Region, five representing the City of Brussels, one representing the associated municipalities (Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Schaerbeek, Saint-Gilles, Anderlecht, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Ixelles, Koekelberg, and Etterbeek), and one representing SA Brinfin.
In a context marked by challenges in mobility, environmental transition, and economic development, the Port of Brussels aims to continue its role as a logistical and economic player for the capital. The new Board will pursue its missions by ensuring the continuity of port activities and the development of the port area.
