The works will commence in October 2026 and continue until autumn 2029. Throughout this period, the Ring (R0) will remain open to traffic, with three traffic lanes maintained as much as possible on both the inner and outer ring roads. The chaussée de Ninove (N8) will remain accessible at all times, including from and to the Ring.
Through traffic on the chaussée de Ninove (N8) will be maintained via the bridge over the Ring (R0). For the construction of the bridge piers, traffic will use three narrowed lanes on the outer ring.
At interchange 13 (Dilbeek), the entry and exit ramps on the Brussels side will remain open. However, the entry and exit ramps on the Dilbeek side will be closed during this phase. Traffic coming from Grand-Bigard can make a U-turn at interchange 14 Anderlecht (Westland Shopping) to then take exit 13 Dilbeek.
Traffic from Dilbeek towards Anderlecht will join the Ring (R0) in the direction of Grand-Bigard and then perform a U-turn at interchange 12 Kattebroekstraat. Exit 12 Kattebroekstraat will no longer be accessible; drivers should use interchange 11 Grand-Bigard or 13 Dilbeek depending on their destination. Transit traffic on Kattebroekstraat will remain possible in both directions.
Phase 0, dedicated to preparatory works in October 2026, will involve the construction of two temporary U-turn loops: one at exit 12 Kattebroekstraat and one at exit 14 Anderlecht (Westland Shopping). The Kattebroekstraat tunnel under the Ring will be closed from October 5 to 16 for the loop's construction. Access via the entry and exit ramps will remain possible.
From October 16, after the U-turn loop at interchange 14 is completed, Kaudenaardestraat will be closed at the outer ring, making traffic between the Ring and this street impossible.
Phase 1, starting on October 19, 2026, and extending until April 2027, will mark the beginning of the construction of the new entry and exit ramps for interchange 13 Dilbeek on the Dilbeek side. The U-turn loops will allow access to all directions. The central piers for the new cycle path bridge over the Ring (R0), as well as piers for a temporary bridge for public transport and emergency services, will be constructed from March 2027.
