Due to forecasted wind gusts of at least 80 km/h, Bruxelles Environnement has decided to close public access to its green spaces, including the Brussels Sonian Forest, starting this Friday, October 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM.

Parks, nature reserves, and woods managed by the regional body will therefore be off-limits until Saturday, October 24, 2026. Bruxelles Environnement also recommends avoiding travel near trees throughout the regional territory.
Once the alert is over, inspection, cleaning, and safety operations will be carried out. The green spaces will then be accessible to the public again. The organization hopes this situation, dependent on weather conditions, will be short-lived.
