Wallonia-Brussels (comprising the Walloon Region, the French Community of Belgium, and the COCOF) and Quebec are opening the 14th call for projects from their Permanent Joint Commission (CMP) for the 2026-2028 period. This call aims to deepen and mutually enrich expertise in areas such as culture, education, higher education, research, promotion of the French language, economy, innovation, environment, and societal development.
The CMP, established under a cooperation agreement, is mandated to materialize this privileged relationship through a joint work program. The objectives include promoting sectoral expertise, developing the professional experience of young people and lifelong learning, and supporting projects with economic and outreach benefits for both entities.
Two support modalities are offered: an "amorçage" (seeding) project, potentially up to €7,500, to establish or deepen collaboration, and "partenariat renforcé" (strengthened partnership) projects, with a maximum support of €25,000, for more ambitious initiatives involving consortia of actors.
Priority sectors for the French Community of Belgium include digital creativity, cinema and audiovisual, international mobility, diffusion and strengthening of French-speaking cultural networks, and training in cultural sectors. For research and higher education, themes such as AI, health, sustainable agri-food, and the environment are prioritized.
The Walloon Region focuses on economy, research and innovation (AI, quantum and photonics technologies, research valorization, energy transition, cybersecurity, life and health sciences), environment (crisis management, climate adaptation, biodiversity), and vocational training. COCOF focuses on education, teaching, vocational training, and health and societal issues.
Projects must be co-submitted by an operator from Wallonia-Brussels and a Quebec partner, promote long-term exchanges, and yield tangible benefits. The application deadline is December 13th at 11:59 PM. Projects must be complete and meet eligibility criteria for both the project and the applicant, who must be a recognized organization in Wallonia-Brussels or a Higher Education Institution recognized by the French Community of Belgium.
